What Grey Eagle is, and who it suits
Grey Eagle Resort & Casino is owned and operated by the Tsuut'ina Nation at 37 Street SW and Glenmore Trail, minutes from downtown Calgary but outside the city limits. It is one of two casino hotels in the Calgary area, and the only one that works as a full resort: hotel, casino floor, restaurants and bars, a concert hall that books national touring acts, and more than 32,000 square feet of event space.
The hotel tower opened in 2014. Room types named by the resort are the Standard King and the Two Queen; travel listings add a Premier King and a King Suite. Guests get a 24-hour fitness centre, an outdoor hot tub and sauna, free secure parking, a shuttle to select locations and, this October, a programme of complimentary guest activities. The swimming pool is closed during casino renovations, with free access to two city pools instead.
Who it suits: concert-goers (the Concert Night Getaway bundles two tickets and a room), couples who want a casino hotel without downtown parking fees, and anyone using Calgary as a base for the mountains an hour west. Who should wait: anyone whose trip depends on a pool, and families who want to use the Buffet, which sits inside the 18+ casino.

The resort cites a 2026 Booking.com Traveller Review Award and a 2025 Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice Award. In public reviews the pattern is consistent: praise for the restaurant, the concert hall and the free parking; complaints centre on the pool closure and show-night noise in the corridors. Our own score for a leisure stay is 4.1 out of 5, and it would be higher with the pool open.
